Welcome baby Kate! This Tuesday our office will be throwing a baby shower for Abby & Michael. I kept debating on what to get for the upcoming arrival of baby Kate. So I finally decided that I would make a diaper cake. Yes, I know, it sounds kind of funny but it not only looks pretty, it is also pretty practical. Here is a picture of how it turned out.

Goodbye Summer...Hello Autumn What better way to celebrate the last day of summer than by enjoying the beautiful weather at the beach! After church and lunch today, Grace and I packed up the boogie boards and headed out to Sunset Beach. It was a perfect day. The water wasn't too cold and the waves were just right. We both got to ride a couple of waves in which was lots of fun.I am going to miss the warm, sunny, summer days so much! We wrapped up the afternoon by planning details for our trip next month as we basked in the warm sun. Click here for some more pics =)

Biola Bocce Ball Tournament
A few weeks ago Michael (Admissions) and Abby (Registrar) came up with the fun idea to hold a bocce ball tournament during our lunch hour on Wednesdays. Well, quite a few people from departments all over campus signed up to play. I missed all the fun of our first meet but my team won! This past week we weren't so lucky...with most team members missing we had to play one of the top teams and lost. We'll see how this Wednesday turns out to be! Here we are pondering our next move! You can catch some of the fun here: http://biolabocce.spaces.live.com/

It seems like such a long time...
we said goodbye...
four years...
So many things have happened since then
lots of laughter... some tears...
I thought of you a lot today...
You would have been seventy three...
Happy Birthday Daddy

Today we pause and remember
so many lost that day, so many so far away today.
Always in our hearts and prayers...

Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice
and for fighting for us to protect our freedom.

Labor Day Weekend 2008This past weekend we spent a great time together. Family all arrived Friday evening just in time to enjoy a yummy home cooked meal. I really enjoy all the times we can all sit around the table together. Saturday morning we took off for a fun filled day at Sunset Beach. Alyssa, Josh, Margie and me all went boogie boarding for the first time. We had so much fun! Yes, I did get in the ocean believe it or not! After lunch we all got back in while Margie and Timothy enjoyed flying the kite. That evening after a grabbing dinner on the way home at Chick-Fil-A (Margie's favorite) we spent the evening talking and having fun together. "Uncle" Adam even joined the fun! The kids enjoyed hearing stories of his travels in Korea and Mongolia this summer. Sunday tired as we were we all made it to church (filled up a whole row!). After lunch we were off to visit Forest Lawn in Glendale. It had been years since the last time I was there. It was a beautiful day to be outdoors and the view and art pieces and gardens were very beautiful. All of us enjoyed the time there. Soon it was dinner time again so we drove into LA and ate at the Colombian restaurant, La Fonda Antioquena. Yum, yum!! After that delicious dinner we drove to the Griffith Park Observatory just in time to catch the sunset. Then we stood in line to look into the telescope and see Jupiter and all it's moons. It was a long wait but very interesting. The kids were so tired the all fell asleep on the drive home. I'm tired but what a great weekend! We all took lots of pictures you can see by clicking here.
